With naturalistas emerging everywhere, it’s an exciting time for stylists to embrace and explore new techniques and innovations on kinky, curly and wavy hair textures. From glam updos to free-falling coils, Faatemah’s signature workshop series will take the fear out of styling naturally textured hair.

Texture At-A-Glance
Learn tricks from an award winning pro. Manage curly, kinky and frizzy hair with ease. Faatemah will demonstrate how to work with two different types of naturally textured hair in its afro state to create contemporary updos quickly and efficiently, in addition to blowing curly hair straight with ease . This workshop will also focus on salon-friendly styling and editorial tricks for special occasion hair. Highlight best tools and practices for styling textured hair.

Participants will learn: How to identify the types of naturally textured, multicultural hair; prepare textured hair for styling; what products and tools are most effective; manage tangled hair and go from textured to straight with ease.

Learn formulation and an innovative color technique ‘Curlyage’ from an award winning pro. Manage curly, kinky and frizzy hair with ease. Faatemah will demonstrate time saving hacks for coloring naturally textured hair in its afro state.This workshop will also focus on formulation, tools, toning and best practices for styling textured hair.


Bio:
Faatemah is a big personality whose distinguishing mark is 'hair that gets attention.' Passionate about not only conceiving over the top hair that dazzles and can be admired by all. Former Bravo Reality star and a founding member of Intercoiffure America/Canada‘s (ICA) Artistic Team, and winner of the prestigious North American Hairstyling Award (NAHA). Her creations have been featured in many publications, commercial work and runway shows and have won her prestigious awards like a North American Hairstyling Award and ICM President's Award. Inducted into the AVEDA Hall Of Fame and recognized as an innovator and world class educator. Faatemah has maintained “Hair is a fabric, not a race.” Recognizing the gaps in beauty education, limited marketing visibility and the beauty aisle segregation, she has tirelessly worked to desegregate the beauty industry. Faatemah consults with brands on creating more inclusive and equitable spaces for BIPOC to feel celebrated and empowered in beauty. Her steadfast commitment to giving back to the community after the social unrest following George Floyd’s death has resulted in a recent NAHA nomination for ‘Inspiring Salon’ 2021.
