This class is designed to help attendees create their own multi-ethnic approach to skin care. It offers a broad overview of the pigmentation process. Then, delves deep to identify primary pigmentary conditions as well as the ingredients and protocols that resolve them.
In the morning, we will review pigmentation theory (the structure and function of pigmentation). Students can follow along with the handout. Then, after lunch, students will pair-up for the hands-on portion of the class. They will analyze each other’s skin then implement a treatment. Each student will leave with a recommended treatment series. *students' skin must be properly prepped before treatment.
ATTENDEES WILL LEARN:
ETHNICITY - How slight differences in skin physiology influence the course of treatment.
MELANOGENESIS - What occurs at each stage of this process.
INGREDIENTS - Which ingredients interrupt the melanogenesis process and how.
SKIN ANALYSIS - How to select the appropriate ingredients to treat each pigmentary condition.

Aliesh Pierce is the author of Treating Diverse Pigmentation, an advanced textbook educating esthetician about multi-ethnic . She began her career in the beauty industry as a makeup artist in Milan. Moving back to the states, she attracted celebrity clients like Queen Latifah, India.Arie, Ming Na Wen, and the Obama family. However, when she wanted to get to the core of her client’s concerns, she turned to skin care and has been a licensed esthetician for 16 years.
Her aesthetics career includes holding positions as the Director of Education for DMK Skin Revision and Veria Ayurvedic Skincare, the Marketing Manager for R&E Cosmetics Labs, and the Product Training Specialist for the Vitality Institute. She also had a hand in formulating products for Daily Concepts and Viola Rouge.
